fwistmas!

No, not a type O, that is what my three year old Bruiser calls Christmas! So Merry Fwistmas to you all!
Here are some pictures from our day, it was a very wet day, and my beloved grandad is in hopsital very unwell so that tainted the day as well, but we made the most of it :)

Hope you all had a fantastic day, and I wish you all a very happy and safe new year xx

Odin

I remember posting last year about our boy Odin, as we awaited the birth of my nephew we all wondered how he'd go with a bubby in the house.. Odi LOVES babies, but would fret for them quite pathetically! If one was upset he'd get very unimpressed with you very quick if you didn't get to them right away! I remember one night, as my newborn diva cried for her milk, he barked at me, sooked at me, sooked at her and then clawed at the porta cot trying to 'rescue' her from her distress! He was a beautiful soul, having cups of tea with mum (out of a cup mind you!) always happy to see you, if you didn't say hello to him AS SOON as you got there, he'd let out a bark to let you know you'd forgotten him and then snub you when you finally went in to say hello. His best mate is the cat Hamish, which I do remember posting about too.
Unfortunately today we had to say goodbye to our boy Odin, 11 years old and still a beautiful soul, just not alot of quality life left.. He had resorted to living in the garage, not really interested in life, his hips had grown weak and moving unnesseccarily was just not on! Yesterday we went to spend some time with him, he was super happy to see the kids, and they were super happy to see him too! I made this video in tribute to the old man (lol) I hope you enjoy! He will be sorely missed in this family, like I said to the kids yesterday, he's been in my life longer then daddy, and you guys, so he's pretty special! Anyway here's the video xx

My little ones!

I finally found the time and some decent weather to do my own kids shoot for the year!
Hmmm.... yep hmmm.... they are hard to pose! Usually both LOVE getting their photo's taken, but not so much on the day it counts lol.
Diva had just been given a new doll and was r
eluctant to pose without it! Bruiser was more worried about how long this was going to take because the park behind them was desperately calling her!
I managed a few good shots, and I got one
with their god mummy which is an awesome piccy! The two candids are my fave but oh well, the good thing about them being my kids, is I can re-shoot when ever I like lol.
Here they are anyway :)

The 'H' Family

I had the pleasure of doing The 'H' families shoot on Thursday! The weather was beautiful for a change, although it made for some HARSH light!! We had booked the shoot for overcast weather so shot a little too early! About an hour out from the shoot I went and hurt my wrist so needless to stay the start wasn't that fantastic! I know this family personally and know little toddler ''D'' is a very smiley happy people.. well NOT TODAY!
Not that she wasn't happy, infact she was, just not up for smiling for the camera, instead opting to stare at it with a serious face, or smile happily in a direction the camera couldn't get her! we persisted for nearly two hours before deciding enough was enough and we'll hope for a money shot! I think we got lucky in the end.
Here's your sneak peak Dan, hope you like them, and thanks for letting me photograph your girls :D

The M family

Today I had the pleasure of shooting the M family's Christmas photos! Man the world was against us, I woke up very ill and it's been raining non stop here for weeks! Today was really our only day to do it, as we are all busy for the rest of this week and with only two weeks until Christmas, we're already cutting it short for printing. So after uming and arrhing all day as to whether I could push through nausea and vomiting (the two ONLY things I can't push past) and whether or not the weather would break enough to shoot, we decided to just do it! I downed some maxalon, cried at the rain and went along with positivity in place! And I think it paid off! Thanks A for letting me capture your beautiful family, I hope you
like the pictures as much as I do!!! Here's a sneak peak:

GONE COUNTRY!

Last week I had the pleasure of doing a country themed shoot for Bec, her children M and C were really fantastic subjects! Mr C was the perfect model and managed to warm Miss M up enough to let her beautiful personality shine through! It was such a wonderful time that none of us wanted it to end, pity the sun had other ideas! Anyway, here they are :)

Photo 5!

So I managed to enter this year, I was so excited to be able to think outside the square but I wont lie to you, it wasn't easy!! I struggled from day dot and by the time I uploaded my last photo, I was well over the whole thing lol.
I wasn't a finalist which is fine, although I have to fight myself with the whole.. if all that work wasn't good enough why bother thoughts, but I will get there! Here are my entries anyway :)

VAMPIRES!!!!

Today I had the pleasure of attending a shoot for Beck's photography http://www.becksphotographybrisbane.com/ She was doing a commercial shoot for a USA clothing company http://missconstrued.com/ and invited me to attend to watch. I was excited to see this shoot and to see Beck's vision become a reality. The added bonus for me was Beck had organised for Mel from Meloo photography http://www.meloophotography.com.au/ to come along and mentor us! It was such an honour to be there! Of course my bestie Lauren from Photo Synergy http://www.photosynergy.com.au/ was there too, so I couldn't have asked for a better day! The weather was perfect, the models were gorgeous and the day was just fantastic! I learnt SO much today, I learnt how to do a few things and also that I know nothing in comparison to these amazing photogs! and that despite the fact that I know I have a lot to learn, just how much I have left to go on this journey was beyond my comprehension! But I will get there!
Once again a huge thanks to Beck, Mel and Lauren for such a fantastic day! Make sure you check out their sites guys, well worth a look!
Here are some of the pics I managed to get today.
